Porretta thermal resort: a well deserved rest
Porretta, immersed in the peaceful and lively environment of the Tuscan Emilian Apennines, in Emilia Romagna but just a stone’s throw from Tuscany, attracts visitors for its ancient and precious Thermal baths appreciated by Romans and Etruscans; Macchiavelli stayed here when he was writing Mandragola. At the end of the 19th century this was a meeting place for noble people, intellectuals, artists and guests from all the Italian states of the late 19th century. The culture and tradition of the Spas, as old as the history of man, is based on totally natural principles. In fact the natural elements of thermal waters cannot be altered but only used as supplied by nature in delightful places called Spas.
