Monte Pizzo

Monte Pizzo

Monte Pizzo Adventure Park: an adventure park for all ages and also for differently abled persons... Adventure, Nature and Social relations

The adventure park is immersed in the superb beech woods of Mount Pizzo, in the last part of the mountain ridge which also includes Corno alle Scale, La Nuda, Mount Grande and Le Tese. It includes four treetop trails with 34 platforms, a bouldering area for children and adults, a zip wire for children and a 15 m high panoramic viewpoint.

The adventure park is located in one of the most beautiful sceneries of the Apennines and it would be worth visiting even just for the panoramic view on the Reno upper valley. Royal eagles and roe deer can often be sighted here, and sometimes wolves too. Immersed in this superb nature, this treetop park is particularly committed to safety and accessibility to differently abled persons: sanitary staff is always available on site for tarzaning lovers and trekkers; a vehicle equipped to transport differently abled persons is also available so that the park can really be accessible to everyone. The park believes that moments of fun and the beauty of the surrounding natural environment must be accessible to everyone in total safety.

There are four trails concealed in the beech woods. The “Green Trail” has been especially conceived for children or as training trail for adults and is made up of 8 platforms. The very long “Blue Trail” at a height that ranges from 4 to 6 m is a little more difficult; it includes 13 platforms and panels that describe the local flora and fauna. The “Red Trail” is very difficult and leads to a panoramic platform at a height of 15 m from where the flight of birds of prey can be seen; the trails ends with a 100 m zip wire.  The “Black Trail” represents the ultimate challenge; a no limits trail for athletic and daring adventure lovers; it is at a height of more than 8 m and includes the thrilling “Tarzan Jump”, a horizontal ladder, a net, etc.

For adults and children wishing to try rock climbing there is a bouldering area equipped for soft landings so you can dare without risking.  There is also an additional zip wire for smaller children.

Other outdoor activities can be carried out in the park: archery; mountain bike, with three routes that cross the area, an easy one for the whole family, a difficult one for experts and a really challenging one for true iron men/girls; paragliding, also in tandem, a flight school and soon the first paragliding experience in Italy for differently abled persons; there are also many trails for trekkers, from simple ones for the whole family to more extreme ones lasting more than one day. Picnic areas and a refreshment point are available in the park as well as a bar and restaurant that serves typical local dishes. The park also includes environmental education routes to combine fun with education.
