Monte Bibele and the Celts

Monte Bibele and the Celts

A trip into history, to discover how Celts lived on our Apennines.

The departure is set in Quinzano (4 km from Loiano).
The way goes through the houses near the little church. We take the CAI 803 path, which goes in the wood through a large road with two big turns.
Thanks to the requalification project of Monte Bibele area, you can find a recent signage that allows you to take different paths. We suggest you to follow the indication for the Visitor Center, then go visiting the residential area of Pianella (400-200 B.C.), where important works have been done to rearrange the area. There are two beautiful celtics huts that have been recreated following the historical process.
Follow the indication for Monte Tamburino from here to go back in Quinzano through the path you took at the departure.
On the second day you can take the other path and try a different itinerary to the Visitor Center.
Take the path that goes to “Il Borgo”: this very suggestive road goes down and leads to the small town of Bisano. Here you can visit the “Parco delle api e del miele” (the “bees and honey's park”) by reservation.
You can take the bus to go back to Quinzano, but we suggest you to take the bus towards Bologna and go visiting the Luigi Fantini archeological museum in Monterenzio, in which there are many archeological objects found in Monte Bibele that could increase your knowledge of Celts world in Italy.
From here you can take the bus to go back to Quinzano.
